Support the GWC: An Open Mic

After 18 years of denial, Columbia has recognized the graduate workers' union. But there is still a long fight ahead. Graduate workers are now fighting for a strong contract that improves their working conditions, offers protections, and ensures fair compensation and benefits. Columbia’s recognition of the union is still a minimal concession. We –– all students and workers, undergraduates and graduates –– need to keep fighting for more.

This open mic is a time to celebrate the university's long overdue recognition of the graduate student union, build solidarity and share writing. There will be food and drink. Readings can be on any topic and in any form. Please sign up to read here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/19I0rLDbHSQuvf3j6VPYm-nMTB6fBQlg_jBbWsrChnv0/edit?usp=sharing
