Wearable Media will host a panel discussion on October 27, 2017, including a diverse group of women working in the field of fashion technology, textile design, and anthropology. The panel will open conversations about the current technologies applied to e-textile design, as well as how human behavior shapes our surroundings through clothing, culture, and technology.Wearable Media cordially invites you to our exhibition, Future Textile Library. Come join us in re-imagining our relationship to fashion, textile design, and computational technology as an interactive media. Along with the exhibition, we developed a series of workshops to help the audience to get hands-on experience of creating future textiles. As part of a series of workshops, Wearable Media will host a panel discussion on October 27 with creators from the fashion and tech space, as well as scholars within the anthropological fields, to address the ability of smart apparel and e-textile design to give us a more complex understanding of our immediate environment, how we physically move through the world, and how human behavior shapes our surroundings. We are hoping to open a dialogue and create engagement and curiosity, as well as speak to the implications for what the future holds for designs within the realm of fashion as an interactive media.
