A Tribute to Elizabeth Hardwick

  • Sulzberger Parlor (3rd floor Barnard Hall) 3009 Broadway New York, NY, 10027 United States (map)

Susan Sontag once wrote that “the boldness and virtuosity of Hardwick’s associativeness intoxicate,” and said that her sentences “are burned in my brain.” NYRB Classics is launching the Collected Essays of Elizabeth Hardwick at Barnard College, where Hardwick taught for over 20 years, with a discussion of her work among Darryl Pinckney, Susan Minot, and Saskia Hamilton. It promises to be an enlightening and entertaining conversation. Do come and celebrate with us.
