Call to Artists
for an inclusive artistic community
As the undergraduate arts publication of Columbia and Barnard, Ratrock seeks to promote and support the diversity of art and of artists found on campus. To this end, we started CTA: a call to the entire community to submit art around a selected theme. Each call culminates in a gallery hosted once a semester – Fall, Spring – where every artist who submits work is guaranteed at least one piece in the show. This way, we hope to (1) inspire students to generate new work around the theme, (2) create a democratic art scene on campus, and (3) enable artists to discover each other’s work and further fuel their inspiration. Selected pieces from each CTA will also be featured in Ratrock’s bi-semester zines.
